2024 Buddy Matches
Welcome to the 2024 Buddy Matches. The Buddy Matches have been a long time staple of Honeywell and 2024 will be an amazing year for the Buddy Matches as Brad Farlow and Dan Sparling attempt to defend their 2023 title. As in years past, this event will pair you and a partner of your choice against other teams in an individual team match play format. All matches are Handicap. Please be sure you have your 2024 Handicap purchased.
Registration
Registration is currently open. In order to register your team, please stop by the golf shop and fill out a form for you and your partner. Return the form to the golf shop along with your $120 per team entry fee. This covers all the prizes for the year. The deadline to sign up is April 21st at 5:00pm. Buddy Match Kickoff Tournament and Pairings party will take place on April 27th. Shotgun start at 9:00am
Format
The format for the Buddy Matches is as follows:
Each team will play 3 Qualifying Matches between the end of April and the first part of August. The total of these matches will be added together for a total score. The top 20 teams and ties will qualify for the Match Play Finals. The Match Play Finals are single elimination following the same rules as the qualifying matches.
Match Format: The lowest handicap players from each team and the highest handicap players from each team will play 18 hole matches with each hole being worth 1 point. Each match can also receive a bonus of 1 point for the winner of the front 9 and 1 point for the winner of the back 9. Any ties will result in a 1/2 point for each team. Both matches are added together for a total of 40 points in each match.
